Kitchen Shaman is hitting the road again in July. Destination: VeggieFest 2016. Held outside Chicago, IL, it is one of the largest vegetarian festivals in North American. Chef Johnna will be presenting two demos at this event, so if you’re in the area, please consider stopping by – admission is free!
Last year over 30,000 people attended this monster festival celebrating vegetarian, vegan, and raw food. In addition to demos by over a dozen chefs, coaches, cookbook authors, and brand representatives from Whole Foods and Nature’s Path, there will be nearly thirty presentations on vegetarianism, veganism, spirituality, wellness, nutrition, and health. There will be dozens of vendors, a dedicated family fun area, an art show, musicians, and a children’s parade. Plus you can choose from over twenty booths in the international food court, all featuring vegetarian food with many offering vegan and even gluten-free options.
Chef Johnna’s demos will cover familiar ground for faithful followers of this blog. You’ll see how to prepare “Watermelon Three Ways” and how to make “Red Chili Tofu Tacos.” You can find those recipes on this site, but at VeggieFest you’ll get to see Chef Johnna in person – and taste the food! The demos are scheduled for 2 pm on Saturday and 1 pm on Sunday.
In addition to Chicago, Kitchen Shaman will be making stops in Albuquerque, NM, Castle Rock, CO, and Topeka, KS on the road to and from. If you’re in those areas and would like to meet up for coffee or a meal, please contact us on social media and we’ll compare schedules.
