We wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone who supported our recent Indiegogo campaign. While Kitchen Shaman Cooks the campaign didn’t meet the financial goal we set, Kitchen Shaman Cooks the show WILL be produced, just on a smaller budget.
Thank you to everyone who contributed financially (your perks will be heading your way over the next few weeks).
Thank you to everyone who attended our campaign party in Phoenix. It was great to talk to old friends and make new ones — and we raised a bit of money from the raffle that will go towards the cooking show.
Thank you to everyone who shared, tweeted, emailed, texted, or otherwise spread the word about the campaign and about Kitchen Shaman in general. We have lots of new followers and fans, thanks to you.
Thank you to Strawberry Hedgehog for donating some of their awesome vegan soaps to our raffle and as bonus perks for contributors and to Urban Beans for hosting our party.
If you’re wondering what’s up next for Kitchen Shaman, the answer is “a lot”!
This Thursday, November 5th, we’re debuting a weekly Twitter chat. Join us for #LateNiteVegans, a group of vegans who are up late (or in faraway countries where it’s day) and want to talk about vegan food. We’ll be chatting every Thursday at midnight MST (2am EST/11pm PST). This week the topic will be what vegans eat during a “Late Nite Snack Attack” and we’ll be giving away vegan jerky courtesy of Mean Vegan Products.
Those of you in the Phoenix area may want to attend a free class that Chef Johnna is giving on Saturday, November 14th. “Spice Up the Holidays” focuses on cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, and allspice. Chef will walk you through the origins and historical uses of these spices and explore how you can experiment with these spices individually and together in savory, dessert, and drink recipes. Join us November 14th @ 11 am at Green Goddess House of Herbs, 4232 N 7th Ave in Phoenix.
We’ve also launched a second website that focuses solely on vegan food. Check out Things Vegans Cook. Every week we’ll share new recipes, videos, and books and for World Vegan Month, there will be a new vegan picture every weekday.
Other things to watch for in the coming months:
- Our 2016 food calendar will be on sale soon
- Chef Johnna will be doing a demo at the 2nd Annual Arizona VegFest in January
- The next Kitchen Shaman e-cookbook will be released later this month
- We’ll be releasing more videos on YouTube every month
