After months of planning, we’re pleased to announce that we are launching a crowdfunding campaign today, October 1st. We want to turn the things you love about this blog into a web series and we need your help.
We have created a number of videos showing you recipes, cooking tips, and me eating things and you can see them on the Kitchen Shaman YouTube Channel. We want to take this to the next level, renting equipment and hiring a professional crew to bring you a higher quality program. We’re asking you to help make that happen.
The plan is for 6 episodes to debut in March or April of 2016. I’ll show you how to cook vegan recipes using restaurant techniques, which is easier than you think. As with my blog posts, you can expect to learn some food history and facts and hear stories about my decades in professional kitchens.
At heart, this project is about sharing my passion for food in a new way, something I’ve dreamed about since I was a young child and first watched Julia Child on our black and white television.
You don’t have to be a vegan to appreciate the restaurant-style recipes, food history, and cooking techniques I’ll be sharing — to say nothing of the food porn. If you can contribute, we have some cool perks. Depending on the amount you contribute to the project, you can get a 2016 food calendar filled with gorgeous food porn that I cooked and photographed, the chance to have YOUR cooking question answered in an episode, or a personal appearance (or 30 second commercial) in an episode. If you live in the Phoenix area you could even get a “Vegan Sweets & Treats” date with me or attend the recording of one of the episodes. If you can’t contribute financially, pass it along to your friends and family who might be interested.
